A wedding of the year can hardly only last one day. Kasia and Michael welcomed their guests to Krakow on Friday, with a cocktail party event in a modern club in a trendy district.

For us, a big challenge leading up to this day, was preparing the gift bags. It may sound like no big deal, but these particular packs really had it in them. The Couple’s custom crest, comprising their initials and personally meaningful symbols, appeared on large eco-fabric backpacks and on many items in them. For months we have been selecting things, which had a meaning and connection to Kasia and Michael, we have been customising them, collecting boxes which were gradually arriving in our office and finally we were packing the bags, each containing approx. 20 different items and a brochure to explain their meaning.

The stationery we also worked on for weeks. During the opening night, each guest received a folder with a program for the whole weekend, practical cards with addresses for all scheduled events and other useful information. The stationery was meticulously designed and adorned, being a pretty souvenir in itself. Inside the folder we had watercolor illustrations, also custom made for us, following the indicated theme.

The wedding of the year had two themes: volcanoes and Japan. Already on Friday we had a strong Japanese influence in the room decoration. According to the tradition from the far east, 1000 origami paper cranes bring good luck to the newlyweds. 800 paper cranes were prepared by the decorators, the remaining 200 guests were folding throughout the night, using prepared paper and special instructions.

The music that night was provided by a Klesmer band, honoring Michael’s Jewish background. At midnight all the guests returned to their hotels, nobody wanted to miss next day’s wedding of the year.
