This year has been very rewarding for us in terms of amazing weddings. When Kasia called us in July, we were basically done booking for this year. But how do you say now when you hear this: we love the mountains, we already booked the registrar, we want to get married somewhere on the trail, on a secluded meadow, just the two of us, but we need it to be beautiful…? We had no doubts this would become a beautiful ceremony. We dug up old contacts and found a shed, on a glade with view on a magnificent mountain panorama, far from tourists or crowds. We became witnesses and translator, so that the number of participants at the ceremony could be kept to a minimum. We designed the decorations and came up with a few small “touches”, thanks to which the Newlyweds could spend a while at the location without being bored. We had live local music, warm coffee drunk from custom mugs, made to suit the occasion. The Bride had asked for her favourite ewe’s milk cheese, we also ordered custom „mountain” cookies. The Couple also cut a mountain wedding cake and raised a champagne toast.
Kasia and Andy prepared very stylish attire, a traditional wedding dress was combined with meticulously assembled accessories, transforming the outfit into a more boho-style version, also corresponding to the hiking theme. The groom looked very handsome in tweed and natural colours as well as professional hiking shoes. Not without reason, the main attraction of the day for the Couple, was supposed to be a photo session out on the trail. Naturally we had a plan B location in case of bad weather, which posed a challenge in itself as the Newlyweds wanted to avoid any places touristy or crowded. On the wedding day, the weather was so surprisingly good, that we found it a bit of a pity that Kasia had to resign on the carefully selected shawls, gloves, warmers and cardigan. The day before the wedding, she also cancelled a professional hair stylist, investing in a good hair dryer instead. The whole event was meant to be intimate and low-key.
The glade glowed in the sun, the subtle vintage-boho decoration on one side, the mountain peaks on the other, set the scene for this unusual elopement. In addition to the formal ones, the Couple also said their own heartfelt vows.
The photo session went on beyond dusk, it wasn’t until way past 7 pm that the Newlyweds reached their dinner table. For their anniversary, they plan to invite close family and friends to their beloved Tatras, perhaps we can meet again at this occasion.
