Hania and Jack got married at the peak of the pandemic, thanks to incredible determination and keeping absolutely cool heads.
We met in January 2020, when the world new little of what was about to come. The wedding took place in October, so throughout the preparation time we all dealt with tremendous chaos and uncertainty. Hania and Jack had to radically change their wedding plans in the process, but one thing was not negotiable: they were going to get married in Krakow as planned.
We were all in the dark, first waiting for weddings to be allowed again, then not knowing what exactly we could do, while the original plan was for up to 180 guests to attend. Eventually in the summer the decision was made to radically cut the guest list, to avoid the risk of having to uninvite guests last minute, especially considering they would all be travelling from abroad.
This decision made us rearrange most of the original plans, including the set up and the repertoire of the band… hardly any piece of the puzzle was left untouched, but the choice turned out to be 100% accurate. We weren’t even very much surprised that shortly before the big day, the mandatory masks were reintroduced, effective exactly on the wedding date. Thankfully the weather was on our side, we were able to celebrate outdoors, keeping social distance and according to plan.
In the end, Hania’s and Jack’s wedding was an intimate celebration for their closest friends and family, most of whom probably only vaguely know how vebra they had to be to make it happen. Hopefully we will never have to work under such peculiar circumstances again, but we are totally confident Hania and Jack will make it no matter what.
